Synopsis of Multimodal Presentation

For my presentation, I analyzed the work of Steve McCurry, an American photographer known for his documentary photography and vibrant portraits from around the world. I focused on several of his most well-known photographs, including Afghan Girl, Dust Storm, and Rajasthan, as well as other images that capture everyday life, culture, and human emotion. Throughout the presentation, I explained how McCurry uses color, lighting, composition, and timing to tell powerful stories. His work shows that photography is not only about creating beautiful images but also about documenting important moments and connecting viewers to people and cultures around the world.

New Perception of Photography

Reviewing Steve McCurry's work changed my perception of photography because I realized that a single image can tell an entire story without words. Before this class, I mostly focused on taking pictures that looked nice. After studying his work, I understand that photographers also use emotion, composition, lighting, and timing to communicate ideas. His photographs inspired me to pay more attention to the story behind the image and to capture meaningful moments rather than simply taking pictures.
