Critiquing Photo Challenge

MY COMMENT: Mihret - I really like the aesthetic photo because the raindrops on the window are in sharp focus while the tree in the background is slightly blurred, which creates a nice sense of depth. I also think choosing this image for the aesthetically evaluative category was a good choice because the composition and the calm mood make it visually appealing.
AESTHETIC
I think this is my most successful image because the colors immediately catch the viewer's attention. I also like how the lighting and contrast make the flowers stand out against the darker background, creating a balanced and visually appealing composition.
The most challenging part of this assignment was deciding which photographs best fit each category. Some images could fit more than one category, so I had to carefully think about the purpose and meaning behind each photograph
In future assignments, I plan to pay more attention to composition, lighting, and perspective before taking the photo. I also want to be more intentional about telling a story or communicating a message through my images.
Hi Mihret! Your flower photo really stood out to me, by eye was immediately drawn to it! The colors are unique and visually pleasing. The orange complements the purple very well and makes the purple flowers stand out wonderfully! I think I would have loved more detail in the flowers, potentially a close-up shot to get those details that the human eye would not normally notice. Great work! Keep it up!

I really love this image of the purple and orange flowers. The colors provide a bright contrast and immediately draws the viewer's attention to the whole image. The natural lighting is very effective in this image because it adds depth and and makes the colors stand out even more! In the future, you may be able to brighten some shadows a bit in the editing process to add more detail to the flower's texture while keeping the dramatic effect of the overall image. Great job!

I enjoyed the picture for the interpretive category. It immediately draws the reader to the military vehicle on the right side of the photograph along with the combat boots and combat pants clearly shown on the screen. The overall silhouette shows the soldier in full combat gear gear with the shadow of the helmet visible. It makes the visual audience think that the soldier is preparing to go out onto the field.

I really like this photo. The purple and orange flowers form a strong color contrast, which can immediately catch people's attention. The lighting is also excellent, making the flowers look more layered. The overall picture is very beautiful and fits the Aesthetic Evaluative category very well. If the background could be slightly simplified in the future or the main subject could be made more prominent, I think this photo would have a stronger visual impact. Overall, I think this is a very good work.

I really liked the image you chose for the ethically evaluative category. It immediately made me think about homelessness and how important it is to treat everyone with respect. I also thought your explanation matched the photo well and made it clear why you put it in that category. One thing you could add is a little more about how the way the photo was taken helps get that message across. Overall, I think you did a great job, and it definitely made me think.
